The Gitzo GM4552L Series 4 Carbon Fiber Monopod is a 5-section, carbon fiber monopod. It is the tallest model in the range, designed to securely provide low-footprint elevation and be lightweight, particularly effective when shooting over crowds and fences. The GM4552L is a professional solution that leverages larger tube sizes (top leg diameter 37.0mm) and stiff Carbon eXact tubes to provide rock-solid stability even when extended to its maximum height of 190 cm, keeping weight to an absolute minimum. It securely supports an impressive 30 kg-worth of equipment and weighs only 730 grams. Gitzo’s G-Lock Ultra system makes the tubing even stronger by rigidly connecting the leg sections, protecting joints from moisture and dirt. The monopod features a handy, reversible 1/4″ and 3/8″ mounting thread for attaching various types of cameras, lenses, and heads. It folds down to just 56 cm and is easy to pack or strap to a backpack for day and overnight hikes. The GM4552L base features an innovative 50 mm rubber foot with a pivoting ball-joint for smooth movement that is perfect for capturing moving subjects. It provides solid footing and maximum stability on any surface and can be removed when necessary and replaced with optional feet or metal spikes. The monopod also features Gitzo’s signature ergonomic textured hand grip and a removable wrist strap for increased security, allowing photographers to move freely with their monopod attached to their belt or clothing. Revolutionary Carbon eXact tubes are even stiffer to maximize rigidity and image stability. Carbon eXact optimizes the fibre composition for each tube size, using HM (High Modulus) carbon fibre in the narrower tubes to make them stiffer. The tube diameters are also optimized: the final leg section of a 4 section Series 1 tripod is now 22.5% thicker than its predecessor. Our G-lock system has been redesigned from the inside out; G-lock Ultra is smoother and softer to use, and is designed to reduce dust and grit from getting in.
